The vessel was suspected of conducting illicit activities. After boarding, it was discovered that the vessel was smuggling illegal narcotics.

    Her Majestyâ??s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown conducted a boarding of a vessel in the Northern Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan. The vessel was suspected of conducting illicit activities with links to terrorism. After boarding it was determined the crew were using this vessel to smuggle alcohol illegally. It is believed that this smuggling network has links to terrorism.
