The Commander Maritime Forces Pacific permits HMCS ORIOLE to support various charitable organizations in their pursuit of funding. However, this support is limited, and subject to operational requirements. This support may consist of having HMCS ORIOLE present for an event, or, as is more usual, the offering of a daysail onboard HMCS ORIOLE as a charity auction item.
Those who purchase a daysail onboard HMCS ORIOLE need to be reasonably flexible. HMCS ORIOLE can accommodate up 16 guests, sometimes more or less, depending on the number of crew embarked. The successful winner of a Day sail auction will need to contact the Commanding Officer of the ship (see the "contact" link on this website) to arrange a mutually acceptable date if a firm date was not set in the Auction Certificate. Keep in mind that HMCS ORIOLE is in high demand, and it may be a few months before a day sail can be scheduled in.
Daysail are normally conducted from Esquimalt, BC, with a few being conducted from Vancouver. Scheduling of daysails from Vancouver is more limited due to the transit time required to support events in that city. See the "sailing in ORIOLE" link on this webpage for further details.
Charitable organizations wishing the support of HMCS ORIOLE should send requests to:
