Welcome:
The Canadian Navy Heritage website was mandated by the Chief of the Maritime Staff to provide for a centralized repository of information on the customs, traditions, history and heritage of the Naval Service in Canada. This site is broken down into three major sections; “History and Heritage”, “Customs and Traditions” and the “Photo Archive”. Each of these three sections has an individual introduction page that will provide greater detail regarding the contents of each.
Viewing the Site:
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher is recommended for viewing this site. Although the site has been designed to work at resolutions as low as 640 x 480, it is best viewed at a resolution of 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024.
It is also important to turn the ALT display ‘on’ so that picture information can be displayed while you are viewing text. For Internet Explorer, this is done by going to: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Accessibility > then selecting: “Always expand ALT text for images”.
Answering Questions / Conducting Research:
We will always try to answer questions or comments about the site quickly. Unfortunately the Canadian Navy Heritage Team does not have the staff to conduct research nor answer complex questions. However, we will do our best to provide the information you require to get in touch with the right agency that could assist you.
